| Artist Statement: “My work encompasses functional mugs, bowls and plates; and decorative Raku vases. My functional work revolves around four themes: Earth featuring hand carved trees and vines, Aire emphasizes fanciful curves and curls, Fire uses multi-layered glazes to evoke comets, galaxies and nebulae and Water uses multi-lay grays, blues and greens to evoke lakes and seascapes. My Raku work features large vases with raised relief carvings of herons, animals and natural scenery. I offer smaller vases with carved abstract designs as well as sculptures and masks evoking goddess imagery and nature themes.” |
